ABOUT ALANA

ABOUT THE ARTIST

HELLO THERE, I'M ALANA

A fine artist, photographer, designer, and the creator of Vanity’s Edge. Vanity’s Edge has provided small businesses with their own custom branding since 2004. In 2009, I merged Vanity’s Edge design work with my passion for professional and creative photography. Vanity’s Edge has evolved into an extremely successful business. Using graphic design and photography together has helped me take the Vanity’s Edge portfolio to the next level. Vanity’s Edge has provided work for hundreds of satisfied and frequently recurring clients.

I offer the following services: paintings, headshots, storefront, commercial murals, artwork and product photography packages to bring your business to life on the web.

I started out with a love of drawing and a tiny pink camera posing family and toys around age 7. My mom always guided me towards the arts and put me and my sister in a small art school in bel air. In high school my father gave me his 1980's minolta film camera where I studied photography electives at John Carroll. When my parent's saw I took an interest in the arts and photography they bought my my first first Nikon SLR camera and I posed my cousin and my sister in various goofy scenes as well as stylized Martha Stewart shots of my mother, and lazy days of my horses. I studied Visual Communications at Villa Julie where an amazing group of professors opened many new doors to the world of art. My love of painting, drawing, and photography blossomed and began to take a new form. After college I began molding them into one solid artwork where photography became my medium. While keeping one of my favorite focuses, capturing life in the world that surrounds us. I'm very fortunate to have wonderful families and businesses that visit me to capture their special moments. I can't thank you enough. Nowadays I am back to exploring my roots in painting, and discovering what's next in line for my art path.
